Equine Assisted Life Coaching & Enrichment

The purpose of an Equine Assisted Life Coach is to help individuals and groups perform at their highest level personally and professionally. People seek out a Life Coach for help with relationships, their careers, communication, as well as physical and spiritual guidance, during the changing seasons of life. Life coaches work with their clients to help them achieve goals, overcome obstacles and help make necessary changes in their lives. The coach works with the client in a partnership.

Through specific strategies and skills, the coach helps you define yourself and create the life you’ve always envisioned. Coaches help you focus, provide direction, challenge you, support you, motivate you and celebrate with you. Life coaches help you create a plan, detail action steps and hold you accountable for following through. They use skills that include observing, listening deeply, asking empowering questions, challenging and motivating. Coaches do not counsel or analyze the past. Life coaching is based on the principle that the client has the ability to determine and achieve their goals.

Life coaching has a specific set of skills that help encourage you to set goals and change the way you think. They do this by giving you a roadmap to find success. It can be done by using the following steps:

  1. Clarifying your wants and needs

  2. Assessing where you are now

  3. Reviewing your options

  4. Creating a plan

  5. Providing motivation and commitment

  6. Keeping you on track

  7. Celebrating all successes along the way

Why horses?

Horses have an amazing power to heal and to teach.  They are innate at reading our non-verbal body language, experience a wide range of feelings, provide immediate, honest, observable feedback in response to our interactions with them.  Horses are sensitive to nonverbal stimulus, which makes them astute guides.  They are social beings, and bring insight into group dynamics and the individual roles we play in our daily lives.

Equine Assisted Life Coaching & Enrichment is an emerging field in which horses are used as a tool for personal and professional growth and learning.  It is experiential in nature in that individuals learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with horses and then discuss feelings, behaviors, and patterns.  The focus is not riding or horsemanship.  Equine Assisted Life Coaching & Enrichment involves setting up activities involving horses which will require the individual or group to apply certain skills such as:  non-verbal communication, assertiveness, creative thinking and problem solving, leadership, work, taking responsibility, teamwork and relationships, confidence, and positive attitude.

By working with horses in an intentional way with trained professionals, you will directly experience the solution to reaching your goal.

Facilitated by a Certified Life Coach and Equine Specialist.

No horse or riding experience necessary.

Most suitable for preteen through adult.
